Parking Day Parklet in front of Mississippi Pizza, 2010

Permanent, Modular Parklets similar to this temporary parklet could become a reality. Photo by Rebecca Hamilton.

I had a great time sitting in on the PBOT/PSU Traffic & Transportation class-wide presentations last Thursday, and I’m excited about the panel presentations this Thursday.  Sue Keil, Chris Smith & Tom Miller/Catherine Ciarlo will get to publicly respond to some inspiring ideas, including a proposal for the first city parklet on Mississippi from our allies at Rethinking the Right-of-Way. In addition there are five other 15-minute presentations of interest to local transportation advocates, topics include:

  • 20 Minute Neighborhoods
  • Transit Service Planning
  • Milwaukie Light Rail
  • Skyline Boulevard
  • Bike Funding

It’s not unusual to get beer & tea afterward to discuss and solve all of the transportation problems in our region.

Panel Presentations for the Traffic and Transportation class at PSU:

Thursday, December 9th
@ The Portland Building’s 2nd Floor Auditorium
6:40-8:40pm

Reviewers may include:
Susan Keil, Tom Miller/Catherine Ciarlo, and/or Chris Smith.

Hope to see you there!
